Here at Keystone Fur Dressing, we offer three types of tanning for your hides.  Just read below to find out about them.

Dry Tans ~ Hides that are dry tanned undergo the normal tanning process.  As in every case, all hides are pickeled, shaved, tunmbled, etc.  However, the dry tan hides are finished and packaged dry.  For mounting purposes, dry tanned hides must be rehydrated.

Wet Tans ~ Wet tanned hides follow the same procedure as the dry tanned hides.  The only difference between the two methods is that the wet tans are not dried a final time.  Hides are finished and packaged wet.  They are sent out after being frozen for a week to insure wetness.  For mounting purposes, these hides do not need to be rehydrated.  Just thaw them out and you're set to work.

Liqua Tans ~ The liqua tanning method is a newer method in the tanning industry.  As stated before, the hides are pickeled, shaved, tumbled, etc.  However, the liqua tan is a oil tan that is painted on the hide.  In most cases, this can be done in your own home.  Like the wet tans, liqua tans are finished and packaged wet and are shipped after being frozen for a week.
